Telecom Project Lead
firstPRO is seeking a Telecom IT Project Lead, reporting to the IT Operations Manager – Telecom, to serve as the primary point of contact for telecom projects. This role involves managing UCaaS project planning, supporting installations, and ensuring successful issue resolution. It also includes overseeing the migration from analog/POTS to VoIP, coordinating with internal and external teams to optimize costs and streamline processes. This is a long-term consulting opportunity, with compensation up to $50/hr., based on experience.
Responsibilities:

- Lead UCaaS projects, including planning, tracking, and communication with stakeholders.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from kick-off to installation and post-install support.
- Collaborate with the IT network team to ensure readiness for UCaaS deployments.
- Coordinate analog line disconnects and analyze telecom accounts for migration.
- Support additional projects like Greenfields, Closures, and M&A activities.
- Provide regular status updates to management and identify areas for process improvement.
- Create necessary tools and documentation for project management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field; PMP certification preferred.
- At least 3 years of IT experience, with a focus on telecom.
- Strong skills in Visio, PowerPoint, O365, and Teams.
- Experience with 8×8 or similar VoIP providers is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, growing environment.
- Willingness to travel (10%-20%) and work outside regular hours as needed.
